Resilience focusing on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)

Myanmar is exposed to several natural YCT hazards which include cyclone, floods, landslide, and earthquake, etc.. The costal regions are exposed to cyclones, and storms surges while major parts of the country are at risk. The rainfall-induced flooding is recurring across the country. YCT has implemented disaster risk reduction activities in the Rakhine State to mitigate the impact of natural hazards by raising awareness on the impact of hazards such as cyclone, flooding and landslide, etc.. and basic first aid, how to make life-saving devices for floods and how to make sandbags to protect homes from flooding. In addition, YCT has provided non-food and food items for hazard affected people during the rehabilitation period.
